Carnations are perennials treated as annuals. They are cold and heat tolerant, and need a well-drained soil with a dressing of lime and complete fertiliser.
Timing:
Plant all year round to flower in spring to autumn.
Positioning:
Full sun.
Height:
45-50cm
Planting Distance:
25-35cm
Colour:
Shades of red, pink, yellow, orange, violet, white.
Use:
Bedding plants, clumps in the garden, cut flowers.
