DianthusThese dainty relatives of carnations are perennial but are best treated as an annual. They will flower again a second year if cut back after flowering and given liquid feed. They are compact plants which will tolerate poor soil and very dry conditions.

Timing:

Plant all year round for flowers from spring through autumn. Will flower 10-12 after planting.

Positioning:

Full sun to semi-shade.

Height:

15-30cm

Planting Distance:

15-20cm

Colour:

Pinks, red, white and purple/violet shades.

Use:

Borders, rockeries, edging, clumps in the garden, containers.
