ImpatiensAmong the most popular, colourful and adaptable plants, impatiens flower for most of the year and can be planted in shady or sunny locations, in the garden, pots or hanging baskets. They look wonderful in a massed display. They will flower over winter if protected from frost. Water regularly in dry weather. Prune back and fertilise to renew growth and keep compact.

Timing:

Can be planted all year round for flowering all year round in warm conditions, peaking in spring to autumn. Will flower 4-6 weeks after planting.

Positioning:

Moist, shady areas are best. They will take almost full sun, though are best protected from direct sun in mid-summer.

30-60cm

Planting Distance:

20-30cm

Colour:

Huge range; mixes or separates of reds, pinks, orange, salmon, purples, white.

Use:

Massed displays, borders, clumps in the garden, containers, hanging baskets.
