A long-time favourite, versatile pansies come in an ever-increasing range of colours to suit every garden and decorative need. They like a well-prepared bed and fertile soil. They are frost hardy and perform best in cooler months, usually late winter and early spring, although flowers may continue into early summer in cooler conditions. Remove some of the first flower buds to encourage larger flowers, and pick spent blooms regularly to encourage new buds and prolong flowering.

Best to plant in autumn for flowers from late winter and spring. Can also be planted September.

Use:
Bedding, low borders, rockeries. Wonderful planted in drifts and in mass displays. Excellent for containers, bowls and window boxes.
