PrimulaThe delicate lacy whorls of primula have become a major component of the late winter and spring garden. The modern primula has larger flower in a wider range of colours than the old type. They prefer rich soil with some lime added if soil is acid. While useful for damp, semi-shaded spots, modern primulas will grow equally well in full sun.

Timing:

Plant in autumn or winter to flower in late winter and spring. Will flower 8-12 weeks after planting.

Positioning:

Sun, shade or semi-shade.

30cm

Planting Distance:

15-20cm

Colour:

Mauve, pinks, carmine, purple, wine red, salmon, white.

Use:

Plant in large groups or scatter throughout the garden, rockeries, pots and containers.
