Sweet WilliamFree flowering relative of carnations and dianthus, dainty Sweet Williams are compact bushy plants with masses of small flowers with a faint fragrance. They like a moderately fertile soil and should be protected from frost. Regular feeding and pruning will encourage further blooms.

Timing:

Plant all year round to flower in 8-16 weeks depending on the weather.

Positioning:

Full sun.

Height:

15cm; tall varieties will grow to 30-40cm.

Planting Distance:

10-15cm.

Colour:

Shades of mauve, pink, and red with white markings.

Use:

Bedding and edging, rockeries, containers.
